Part Five: The Temple of Light and Dark
Kylo Ren flew his ship Silencer into the pitch black of space, intent on a new destination in the Outer Rim of planets. He had sent Rey the encrypted coordinates some hours ago, and he hoped she had enough time to leave the Resistance and meet with him. He was getting impatient, determined to reunite with Rey as soon as possible.
Though he had to wait longer to see her, the closer he came to their destination, the more he could sense that she was nearer to him.
The Silencer approached the planet Jelucan cautiously as Kylo Ren knew that it was still under First Order rule. He masked his signal, and he masked his ship’s identity as an unassuming cargo ship with only one crew member. No one would be threatened by him, and he was betting on being overlooked as just another ship ready to haul away Jelucani fogstone to the First Order.
When he was certain to be out of range of any sensors or detection of any kind, Kylo Ren descended into the planet’s atmosphere and eased toward a form of dangerous rocks and mountains.
He followed the familiar coordinates from his memory, knowing only about this place thanks to Master Luke. His uncle sometimes brought his students to the strangest locations and usually ones that were unknown to others. This planet was now strictly a mining planet, its inhabitants covered in debris and rock, poor and half-starved and drinking from contaminated water.
Luke had wanted his students to stay here to train the body and mind, and what they could do if they were deprived of the essentials for living. Upon remembering his time here, Kylo Ren could almost taste the concrete dust and feel it crackling between his teeth.
This was no pleasant planet, and the First Order had barely paid any attention to it. They’d set up an outpost here, and it was mostly run by lower-ranked First Order thugs and a handful of stormtroopers. If he or Rey was found out by any of them, he was certain they could defeat them without much effort.
Dust kicked up like a sandstorm when the Silencer landed, and he disembarked from the ship onto the rocky terrain in front of a forgotten shack covered in dust and debris. It had been several years since anyone had been here, but he remembered the setup as if it were yesterday. Master Luke and three of his students, himself included, stayed in that run-down shack and laid on the hard concrete floors that left sore lumps on your bottom and back. Next to the shack, he saw the well where they would draw their water, and Luke had challenged them to squeeze the planet on whatever water they could conjure below the surface.
Kylo Ren put on his battered helmet to protect his face, and he walked toward the lone dwelling. The wind screamed against his metal mask, and he could feel dust and sand creep inside the exposed crevices of his helmet.
His boots crunched through the gritty surface, and he headed toward the shack to find shelter from the dirty winds outside. Before he could open the door, it creaked loose, and someone was there to greet him. He recognized her immediately despite being covered in scarves and a white headdress to protect her face from the dusty air.
“Rey,” he said, and she pulled him inside the shack. The door slammed behind him, and he heard the wind screech outside as she pulled down her face coverings. He stared at her, glad to see her face glistening with sweat. He removed his helmet, letting his hair fall wild around his face without care to fix it.
He inhaled a breath as she launched herself into his arms.
She was real, solid, and he could smell her, touch her, and as he bent close to kiss her, he could taste her. She was with him as flesh and blood, finally, without the help of the Force.
“Ben,” she said heatedly against his lips, and he continued to devour her mouth, unable to let her go. He felt her wrap her legs around him, and he hoisted her up, carrying her weight as she framed his face with her hands and continued their messy, explosive kiss. They filled themselves with each other’s taste for a long moment, and finally, Rey released him and stood on the ground. Kylo Ren pulled off his cloak and laid it out onto the floor, and he took her hand, guiding her down with him. He loomed over her as she shifted underneath him, and he caressed her cheek as he stared down at her.
“I need to touch you. I need you so…” She arched up to kiss him and they began removing their clothes, hands seeking out warm skin, and they tried to get as close to each other as they could. Force energy buzzed around them like static noise, and Kylo Ren’s thoughts were overflowing with nothing but her – Rey, his lovely equal, his partner, and his other half.
“Ben, please,” she begged him, and she needn’t say anything. He was ready to give her everything, all of him, and whatever she desired. She squirmed naked underneath him, and he cupped his large hands over her breasts before kissing her breathless. She moaned against his lips, and he was moving her legs, putting them around him, as he rubbed against her wetness, feeling the gamut of her arousal.
He moaned when he pushed into her, and she shivered around him while he reached further inside her. He began pumping slowly, and she cried at each glorious push, driving him wild, seeing stars explode around them.
The deeper he pushed into her, the more he felt at home. They were meant for each other. Their energy synced like the perfect design, the most powerful starship, and beyond any power of the Force. He grunted as he began to feel his peak, slamming into her wildly. She moaned loudly next to his ear, urging him on, calling his birth name, begging for more.
When he came, it felt like the first time he had harnessed the Force, the shuddering thrill that ran like a current through his body, and he saw suns being born before his eyes.
Rey shuddered violently around him, and she felt very wet and warm around him. He stayed inside her, unable to find the motivation to leave her. He’d stay like this forever if he could, letting her become an extension of him, always having her warmth to come home to.
Instead, he rolled off her slightly, and they both sprawled on their backs over his cloak on the floor. Both needed to catch their breaths, turning their heads to each other to share a tender smile. She scooted next to him on the floor, resting her naked body against his side. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her onto his chest. She leaned in and drew him into a lazy, slow kiss, and he feared that if she kept it up, he’d be ready for another bout.
“Ben,” she whispered against his lips. “I missed you.”
“Don’t refuse me this time,” he said, trying to hold back his fear. She caressed her finger down his cheek again. He closed his eyes and palmed her hand touching him. “I couldn’t bear it.”
“Never again,” she said. “I feel like some days I cannot function without you, as if half my years are gone.”
“Yes, it’s the same for me,” he said, kissing her again. He shifted her again, pulling her arm gently so she’d move to straddle him. She pressed her pelvis against his and he moaned; he was hard for her again. It had been too long since he’d smelled her and tasted her like this.
She moved her hips and lifted them to take him inside her again. She rocked lightly on him, drawing him deeper inside. She made a small sigh of satisfaction and automatically her hips were moving, much slower this time, but feeling the quake of pleasure building at a moderate pace. He moved under her, sitting up and drawing his large arms around her in a possessive embrace, arching his hips up to meet her pace. She was wet and she was tight, but he fit her perfectly.
They fucked each other slowly, and he drew her in for another kiss, teasing her tongue and sucking on her bottom lip. She moaned hotly against his mouth, and as the pleasure grew between them, their kissers were wilder and sloppier, but he devoured every bit of her taste, and every aroused sound that would leave her lips was all for him.
“Mine,” he said, claiming her with a bite on her chin, and she moaned loudly again as he began to pump faster inside her again.
As much as he’d love to keep doing this until they died, they had to return to their original mission. He hated that he’d have to pause such pleasure with her to deal with the First Order, but it must be done before they gained more power.
He came again deep inside her, and she stilled against him when she, too, was spent from their lovemaking. He showered her face with kisses, and she licked the sweat that had run down his neck.
They held each other lazily while they recovered, and while Kylo Ren was sure that he had another round in him, they had to start working on their next steps.
“I told my friends about you, and that I had to meet with you,” she said immediately, and he waited for her to continue. “They were pretty angry, but I knew I made the right decision. I think your mother knew it too.”
“They will understand soon enough,” he said. “My mother will convince them. Until then, I need your help me fortify our defenses and seek out more allies, stronger allies that will not be a burden to us.”
“The Resistance is not a burden,” Rey said defiantly.
“In its current state, yes, it is, Rey,” he told her boldly. He could see the expression on her face change and she knew that he was right. “They cannot do anything of use to the First Order now, and they will be obliterated if they try to fight them as they become even stronger under Lord Aicsss. Do you want your friends to die? Rey, think about it…Trust my words.”
She snuggled against him and sighed. “I do, Ben. I trust your words, but I do not want to leave them out of this. They want to fight the First Order as much as we do.”
“You won’t be leaving them out of the fight, Rey, not for long anyway,” he said. “You’ll be saving them at first. We have to strengthen our allies, and then we can take on the First Order.”
He saw her look of confusion and continued, “General Hux is not the only one that knows other Force users. General Snoke had a litany of prodigy Force users under his wing, and when they rebelled against him, he had them killed for their disloyalty. However, he could not kill them all. I remember this being quite a thorn in his side, and I was forbidden ever to mention his failures.”
“You know someone that could help us? A Jedi?” Rey asked, hope lighting in her eyes.
Kylo Ren shook his head. “Not a Jedi, someone more unstable than that, but she chose the Light side more often than the Dark. She is currently in hiding, and try as he did, Snoke never found her.”
“Unstable?” Rey asked, unsure if they should get involved with someone like that.
Kylo Ren shook his head. “Her quirks are tolerable, more than anything we need her teachings. She has a photographic memory and has read and written many texts about fighting styles and the Force, and she knows the entire history of the Jedi order.”
Rey nodded. “I see. So, she would be valuable to our resistance.”
“She has no love for Aicsss, Snoke, or the First Order. She has never met General Hux, but I doubt that she’d approve of him using the help of Aicsss.”
“And what of her opinion of your mother or the Resistance?” she asked.
“She is indifferent to those causes, but while we were training under Master Luke, we got along well,” he said. “It is her lack of ties to the Resistance I thought of her. She does not follow any dogma or status quo, and she sees wars and skirmishes of the galaxy to be transient and inconsequential. However, she has talents beyond what I’ve seen in Force users, and one of them is locating other strong users of the Force.”
“She could find us more allies!” Rey said, realizing the direction of his plan.
“Precisely,” he said. The tone of his voice turned soft, and he took her hand into his. Rey noticed this change in his demeanor as he showed her affection. She squeezed his hand back.
He leaned in and kissed her, and she melted into his touch again. He pulled apart reluctantly and rested his forehead against hers. He sighed, and she enjoyed his warm breath on her cheeks, his scent consuming her.
“Ben,” she said, and he didn’t scold her when she called him that. “I promise that after all that we have shared, I will stay by your side and protect you and fight the First Order with you. You have my word.”
He kissed her forehead with adoration. “You stole my line, Rey.” She chuckled against him.
The longer they stayed on Jelucan, the more likely someone could find their ships and try to investigate their true signatures. He didn’t want to be around when that happened, and his contact was in another part of the Outer Territories. They had no reason to be here any longer, and Kylo Ren couldn’t wait to have Rey with him so they could train together and formulate more offensive plans.
They bundled back into their clothes, and Kylo Ren took her hand as he led her toward his ship. The dusty winds had died down, and he was glad to finally say goodbye to this hunk of rock.
“What shall we do with your ship?” Kylo Ren asked her, and Rey shook her head.
“Don’t worry about it,” she said. “Leave it. It was an unmarked X-wing fighter that barely got me here. I had to piece it together from other ships, so it holds no real value to me.”
He nodded and was relieved he had one less thing to worry about. When they boarded his ship, Kylo Ren turned to Rey before they were to lift off.
“Rey, before we leave Jelucan, I want to make a few things clear,” he said, and his serious tone stopped Rey in her tracks. She nodded once, staring attentively as he continued, “We will be going against the First Order not as Jedis, but as ourselves. We have so much power together as a balance of Light and Dark. I do not want you to think this alliance is under false pretenses. I have no desire to restart an Order of Jedi or to fight in their name.”
“I understand,” she said, and he could see in her determined eyes that she believed him.
“I am hesitant to use the Resistance’s help, but if my mother is involved, maybe they will not bungle our plans,” he asked.
“Yes,” she said. “General Organa is managing the rest of the Resistance members to make sure they do not interfere, but many of them were reluctant to let me go.”
“They do not want to lose their strongest ally, but I’m sure my mother will keep them at bay,” he said. “When our defenses are stronger and more fortified, we can enlist them in the final fight. We will need all the help we can get.” He paused and she followed him to the cockpit before they flew off the planet. He added, “In the meantime, we will meet this Force user I spoke about.”
“What’s her name? And where is she?” Rey asked, squeezing into an open space in front of him in the cockpit. She settled close as he took up his position in the seat. The ship whirred to life, and Rey delighted in the smooth, unlabored way his ship began to idle.
He finally answered her after he’d finished setting up all the controls for liftoff. “Her name is Viddya Bo, and she is somewhere in the Quell system, off the grid and on a planetary system full of unsavory characters.”
She grinned at him. “Sounds wonderful.”
His hardened face cracked an unusual smile for her. “Yes, it’ll be… interesting to say the least. And it’ll be a perfect place to train with her.”
She sat up in her seat with anticipation. “Well, then, let’s get going.”
He nodded, and Rey turned to the viewscreen and watched as dust whirled around them as the engines powered up. She delighted in that familiar feeling of her stomach dropping as they ascended higher into the atmosphere.
Soon, they settled into the comfortable sea of stars that bled out before them. Kylo Ren switched gears, increased the speed, and they were pitching forward into the vastness of hyperspace toward their new destination.
