Fandom: Inuyasha
Title: To Bind Her
Author: Paynesgrey
Characters: Naraku, Kikyou, slight Naraku/Kikyou
Rating: PG
Genre: Drama
Word Count: 240
Warnings: None
Notes: Canon Universe. Written for the "Tree" Picture prompt at
ib4y20.
Summary: Naraku creates a weapon that reminds him of Kikyou.
He caresses the bark of the tree, teeming with his dark energy - an instrument of his power, a marker of his creative weaponry.
Its bark is rotted and charred, but it stands strong with his power pulsing through it. He plans to make it useful very soon. The full power of the dark tree isn’t ready yet; his power is still baking throughout its veins, taking over whatever natural holy light it has ever had.
While he waits, he imagines her bound to it. Her unnatural corpse body fighting with whatever souls she’s consumed that day, heightening the original soul, a small light inside her that the miko refuses to relinquish.
He enjoys her struggle, her defiance, and if he can capture her again, he’d affix her to this tree and delight in her glaring eyes, her pathetic struggle, and her sharp words as she threatens to kill him.
Naraku’s body shudders. Dear, dear Kikyou, he thinks, and his desire for her consumes his thoughts again, touching his power like her holy power itself.
No. He can’t. He can’t let himself fall into these traps where he wants her and desires her so much it makes him weak.
With this tree, he will create great destruction. But the sweeter benefit, however, will be using the tree to capture her, bind her, and rid the world - and his heart - of that infernal (delicious) miko once and for all.
